My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!
If I’m missing from Renderosity from time to time, I’m busy having fun elsewhere.
Thanks for your interest in my work, and for stopping by to learn more about me!

Nice shot.

Great shot of the stairs well done!!

Except for the bars on the windows this looks just like a regular army barracks. I'm sure there is something symbolic about that. Nicve capture.

All those bars...a very interesting place to visit but I wouldn't want to live there:) Really like this in B&W. Just enough of the old brick and stone work to say 19th century...

What an excellent shot and I like it in b/w together with the milky effect. Superb.

Cool shot!!

Austere but a great shot.

I like this mono. Good contrast between dark and light.

Good thinking, batwoman! A lot of the backs of our posh hotels look just like this!

Love the ambiance in this shot; works perfectly in b/w. ♥

Fantastic capture and information

Lol you do have a good point! You got the sombre mood of the place to a Tee

love that structure

Wow, this is just awesome!! I knew about the prison there; this sure gives it that bleak, dismal look---though prisons aren't about comfort or pleasure

Austere and a little ...."cold" but very interesting photo Tara!
fredster66
Again - nicely seen!

I guess that is right but they would probably steal things as they went. You don't often see pictures of prisons so I appreciate you capturing something really different.
casmindo
nice capture, hope this was a drive by photo shoot and not a residence benefit. Nice

Cool photo, Tara - I think the B&W fits this really well. I went into the old DB building a little over a year or so ago to service a copier. I was struck by its bleakness, and thought about getting a few shots, but all I had was my little pocket camera. Still, I got a couple..

Not a happy place!

I love the pattern of the stairs; my eyes just want to run up and down them again and again. Excellent work!

Great B&W mood on this historic place - even I have heard of it! Clive

Nice symetry and a good point about break outs, but I have never seen an old barracks, be that on an Air Force or Army base that looks as good and orderly as this one. Great capture Tara!B&W gives it a somber, bleak look!!

Nice shot in B/W...

I love those sleek, clean lines and the contrasts! This is so modern in a sense and also a bit dreamy in an odd way. I think its because these could be stairs anywhere, and not in a prison, albeit an ex-prison. This is really super. Nicely clean and elegant!
