Description

This one has been made thinking to Gmvgmv because he likes the GP9... An EMD GP9 is a four-axle diesel locomotive built by General Motors' Electro-Motive Division in the United States, and General Motors Diesel in Canada between January, 1954, and August, 1963. US production ended in December, 1959, while an additional thirteen units were built in Canada, including the last two in August, 1963. Power was provided by an EMD 567C sixteen-cylinder engine which generated 1,750 horsepower (1.30 MW. A total of 3,444 units of this locomotive model were built for American railroads, with an additional 646 for Canadian railroads and ten for Mexican railroads. Five units were built for a railroad in Brazil, four units were built for a railroad in Peru and six units were built for a railroad in Venezuela.

WOW! This is almost a photo! I particularily like the weathering on the trucks, couplers, chasiss ends, fuel tanks. With all the details, this isn't the easiest thing to model, either. Excellent work! Keep it up!

So cool.... art/model design is excellent.... but the child in me is in awe... When I was a kid, I had a train set.... my engine looked just like this, so you have me daydream'n of those days - cool.

I operated a GP9 like this for the Florida East Coast RR. Other than the limited vision, it was a great machine. I used it for a local at night where we supplied to sidings west and southwest of Miami, Florida.

Another stunning model! You really are a pro at this. Clearly, this iteration blows mine out of the water. I have always had trouble getting the bogeys (axle assemblies) right, but you've really hit the nail on the head here. Spot on! Great color likeness as well. Yup, love those EMDs!!

I am not exactly a Santa Fe fan, Penn Central, Conrail will have to post a few of mine here now. My model railroad is well know on the model railroading sites. Love it just the same. Now I know there a few more modelers out there. Great piece of work. What manufacturer? # # #
