Description

I arrived back home from my 4 week trip to North America this morning. At this stage I still have bells ringing in my ears from jetlag but I'm sure I will get over that soon! The Friday before I saw Chip and Corey in Chicago, I ventured to the Navy Pier to snap some shots. It was bitterly cold but the sky was so blue and beautiful. This is part of the skyline of Chicago seen through the masts of this sail ship. (More pics of the ship later.) Thank you for all your wonderful comments and favs on my previous upload 'Sleepless in Seattle'. Stay well. Hugs, Carin xx

I'm happy you made it home safe and sound; the jetlag will ease eventually, but don't you just hate that out of it feeling? This is lovely! I wish we had some tall ships here, they have some beautifully graceful lines... It was wonderful to finally meet you!

Mighty pretty, and composed magically within an anachronistic setting. Glad to hear you got home safe and sound. Now, can you take the next couple of days off to rest up???

Ag, Dierbaar ... it's good to know you're safely home, but of course I wish you were still in Seattle! It will take some time to get used to sleeping all day and working during the night, but you'll become re-adjusted soon enough. :P Once you're back on track, we'll have a nice long visit and get caught up again. This is a wonderful shot! We didn't get to Navy Pier when we were there, and it's such a treat to see this view! Excellent image.

Hey, how did you get Chicago to cooperate like that? Okay, it didn't cooperate in terms of temperature, but hey...most Chicagoans can't even get shots like that. Ah, the city likes you! This is a great shot too, from a place I have yet to actually photograph. Navy Pier is like that: it's one of the marvels of this city, but it's not a place often visited by people who live here. Funny how that works. It has an interesting history too...there was once a guy who'd set himself on fire and jump into the lake from a high diving board...ah Chicago...such tasteful entertainment comes out of this town. This is a great shot, and I actually know that ship. Not personally, but I've seen it on the lake. It's nice to see where it lives! This really rocks, and it brings back memories of the following day! Marvelous!

Fantastic POV Carin and look forward to seeing more of the ship. I can see four masts so far - it must be huge. Dana
