Description

John James Audubon was here in Louisiana for a short stay. he had wish to live here early in life but the war of 1812 stop that. you cad read up on this wonderful artist on the web. It something to read about too as he almost die of yellow fever and another type of fever later on in life. Any way I was at the George Rodrigue and I saw some of this artist in the room where the food was. I post that later on. Anyway I looked closed up on John James Audubon drawings and color work and saw this detail in most his work there. i took a marco shot of one just to show you. If you have a change to see his work it be worth it. Forgot what the bird was but id not not matter. I just wanted to shot the detail of most his work I saw. The images on the web will show the over all image and here is a detail of most the images he did

Cool macro of the super patterns and textures in this shot, Jock. I didn't know John Audubon harked way back to 1812. I thought he came way after that.

This is stunning! I don't think the light reflected on the glass is a problem at all. It gives the feeling that this is a shot taken in a museum, and so it has the nice "quiet" feeling. The details are amazing! I like the colors a lot also! This is well seen, and I love your choice to make a macro shot. Thank you for the information too, I love reading and learning about artists who are probably more famous than I realize. This is really, really nice.

Très belle idée. Audubon, qui ne peignait que des grandes planches (feuilles) est natif de Nantes. Ses observations ornithologiques font autorité. Very nice idea. Audubon, who painted that large boards (sheets) was born in Nantes. His authoritative ornithological observations.
