Description

Oh, she was waiting. Naru had waited since she was a child, yet, not so little anymore, Naru waited still. No, she was not a child, not a woman either. But even in her youth, she had known the bitterness of a lifetime. But it was beyond stupid to even hope. Here in one of the overcrowded cities where she has started her new life, where an underaged girl living alone was overseen all too easy, waiting was pointless. And here she was, forever changed, a new life in a new town, filled with the longing she had known ever since childhood. Life was pretending now, pretending to not care and she was good at it most of the times. However she could not stop to let her gaze wander through the early streets every morning, trying desperatly to catch a glimpse of blonde hair, or a shade of red among the grey. Yes, little, not so little Naru was still waiting and maybe she would forever. It took ages. Alone the texturing has cost me days and days or in my case more nights and night. But I really wanted to make everything fit, right from the books she is reading (manga) to the more youthfull design of the pot and the radio display with her favorite music. I had the little bg story in mind for a long time and I am happy to have finally made this pic. Credits soon

Great dedication to making this work out. It looks superb. The pose, however, lacks character or style. Consider revising it with a more youthful pose to express the scene - since the lights are not moody, the pose needs to be in order to convey the emotional depth you're expressing. The face isn't enough expression to carry the scene. Still great work. Far better than anything I can pull off - my computer is over 10 years old! So sad!

you really know how to do lighting. beautiful. i like the sense of wind effects, not just on Naru, but the lamps as well. the colors, textures, and depth of the scene are extremely well done.

It's difficult to pull a composition together which contains intricate detail, but you've achieved it nicely here. The depth-of-field blurring makes a striking contrast with the foreground details too. Very nice.
