Computer geek extarodinaire, I love to tinker with gadgets and tech items to get them to do what I want. I'm either logically artistic or artisically logical. I'm also rude, crude, semi-barbaric, socially unacceptable, and totally psychotic. On the bright side - I am potentially harmless. I'm currently trying to write some short stories about the fae as well as a novel on those same fae as well as two other novels. The programs I have for photo and image editing are: Photoimpact from Ulead, Adobe Photoshop 7 and Corel Paint Shop Pro 2X. Recently I've added DAZ Studios as well as Terragen, Blender and Google Sketch to my list of programs crowding my hard-drive. All this and much more on an old Pentium III 450 with 396 Megs of memory and operating Windows XP. It does get interesting at time.As of December 26, 2008, I have added Vue 7 Pioneer to my list of reason of why I'm going insane.
As of January 2010 I upgraded to a new HP 2 dual core processor with 6 gigs onboard mem with 4 gig powerboost and 2.07 terabytes of Hard drivesMy email is faemike55@gmail.com

Queen Zlata certainly has some fascinating elements in her domain! Magical and delightful work, Mike! And thanks for the info as well! Just what I need - another place to find cool stuff to load up my runtimes! That's OK - I have lots of room! LOL!

Awesome image Mike but I think that Spyker is "nuts". :>) The shadows are spot on and cool refractions allover the StickGuy. Dana

I have been trying to decide what to tell you that will help you in rendering images. You have come along way and you are having fun but I want to goose you a bit. I sometimes render a scene 30 times before I post it, if I post it! then I do Post work in Photoshop. (By the time I post it here tho the real image is lost due to constraints) I render at times, like with the last image I just posted, 8 layers, alpha, shadow, displacement etc.... (as a seperate layers) and yes I am rendering for a product most of the time... but think about it, when we model things in Maya we put together a drawing by hand of the obj in question, and bring those drawings into Maya for modeling, we do the same in movies, a story board is put together before filming (it looks like a comic book!) So when you put a story together you can do the same, - so by hand note your goal, how many images will it take (and yes this will and can change) this is true even with a story in a story... So set a goal in your story, who follows it? How can I draw more people in? Who can I shock! who can I touch, why am I doing this, etc... a little planing can go a long way, then make a render (as you plan your story visualize how you want the scene to look and make notes, yes these will change) When You render a scene, render it and think does this fit where I am going with my story? look at the posture of your figures, build on that, shape the hand shape the head eyes and attitude, check it render it again, look for continuity, try to make it real, build on what you have learned......, this is an interesting scene, she is over bent~he is too strait~ do her eyes match her intent~do his~what does my scene really say?~, the background is there but the render leaves it dull, you want your scene to pop and capture attention, you want real comments....there are cheep or even free programs to use for postwork, yes it is time you stepped up to another level...........Dusty...
