Description

MB3D / photo / PSP Thank you for stopping for a closer look. Any and all comments are always welcome and appreciated. Today's image is designed as an exercise in utilizing a sunset photo as background for a bulb. Trying to get the lighting on the bulb to match the sunset properly. It was pointed out to me that there is a bit of resemblance to seeing the statue of liberty infront of the NY skyline. I had no desire to copy anywhere in particular and hope this image does not appear disrespectful to an image the world has come to associate with freedom. That was never the intent at all. Have wonderful Thursday. PS for those who asked what humpday meant yesterday, I did not realize that was just a north american saying I guess. Basically it is because the work week is monday to friday, so wednesday is the center of the week. That means on wednesday you are now over the "hump" as the week is half over. Some folks had funny ideas about it. :) Some of the guesses were far more amusing and interesting than the reality which is actually kind of boring. Jim Yesterday's Image: thumb_2167895.jpg

LOL! Well, that clarifies it for most. But your image is fascinating. I keep seeing Fractal images here, beautifully done, but I am so technoimpaired, I don't know how they are created. This one is gorgeous! How are they made? Love the ray effect in the sky, and a very beautiful sunrise/sunset over the city! Beautiful work! =)

Yep, Wednesday has always been Humpday as long as I can remember. Super Bulbwork, been to NYC a few times but never got out of the Airports there, my first thought was the Skyline of Houston, TX Peace

often writing or speaking a foreign language can present problems.one of my many trips to Mexico I learned the hard way not to refer women in the logical choice of "mujer".as it can be taken as if you are talking about a lady of the finer professions, or prostitute outstanding composition

My, my, Jim, I sympathize. What a plethora of clarifications you have been called upon to make. My imagination requires no great leap to picture some of the probable interpretations of "hump day". Still, it is wonderful to have such a global community on this website. I must confess I simply cannot avoid seeing the Statue of Liberty against the New York Skyline, specifically the final scene from "Planet of the Apes". I can't see why anyone would be offended though. Your positioning and color matching work perfectly. The the sense of depth over many miles is very effective. Very creative bulb work too. Great job!

I love the contrast and the result. I had to think about a Christmas-tree. I love the colors from that low sunlight. Your experiment is just GREAT, dear Jim.

Awesome!! I see a water tower, hydro lines and lots of high rises in the background. The sunrise is beautiful. Your lighting material reminds me of burning up used Christmas trees, decorations and all a fair distance from the city. Great job Jim. Love and Hugs..

Offense? I could take offense?? Nope, Not today. I just don't have the energy so you'll forgive me while I admire the beauty of the skyline at sunset .. and the strange but gorgeous creature right there, basking in the last bits of sunlight.
