Description

Minnesota is still in a deep freeze, but they say it will warm up nicely this weekend, getting into the mid-30's! Woo hoo! Pull out them summer shorts! LOL Oh, I long for Summer. What can I say; winters are long here, and many of us are experiencing Cabin Fever again. Meanwhile, I look through my photo's in my Lightroom, I came upon this Picture, and recall that day so well. The weather was perfect, it wasn't too hot, and wasn't too cold. I had music quietly playing as I drove all over the countryside; down roads I have never been down before. I sat and watched these horses grazing for quite a while. Every once in a while they would raise their heads, and look at me, and probably wonder what the heck I was doing. It's okay though; they knew I was harmless. Animals just kinda know sometimes, I think. In this photo, I applied the Orton Effect . If you are interested, Click the link here if you would like to know how it's done. The tutorial is straight forward and so easy. Hope you are having a great week. Thanks for stopping by; for your views/comments. ShariLyn NOTE: This is embarrassing, but this photo looks stripped of its vibrancy and colors after I uploaded it. The one I see in my Photoshop is PERFECT, and when I look at here in my gallery, it's a crying shame to see how dark and colorless it is. I see this happen sometimes; and if anyone out there knows what I'm doing wrong, please let me know!! Thank you for your views comments and Favs on my previous upload: "Winter ThaW ... I said to myself before I run through your intro. This picture has an Orton feel to it...and started to read...lol. Excelent work and I know many of your picture 'made' for Orton they just ask for it. I have many in mny files and I realy love the effect.

the white horse in the foreground is, in my opinion the hub of the picture by which it stands or falls and i think it stands very, very well

love those rich colors! I used to buy black and white film in Indiana for the winter - as color was useless! Then a cardinal would land and I would be bummed! ;)

Seems to me I recall fiddling with the Orton effect way back when you were introducing some of these things. I didn't do anything that inspired me to do more but this looks very good...everything slightly out of focus but with a pleasing end-state. Nice.

How perfect to relive this scene and be put back in time and place to experience the beauty all over again. That is what art is for I think. It's a most peaceful and beautiful place to transport to. Excellent work.
