Description

I almost did not post this image. I like the composition but I really struggled with the texturing on the space station. Both Flamingo and Rhino's native rendering engine have seem to have problems mapping to tapered cylinders. TrueSpace would have mapped the textures with no problem. Still, I have spent 4 years with Rhino and prefer it as my modeling and rendering interface. I tried out Blender 3D for a month, but its modeling methods were too much like TrueSpace for me. I love the exact, CAD-like modeling in Rhino even though I do miss sub-division surfaces. Blender 3D has awesome rendering capabilities but the associated materials and rendering interface is so complex. The upcoming version of Rhino has new rendering capabilities that look promising to me.
