Description
Preamble and a question.
There is a temptation for us all to keep using the same lighting rig ad nauseum once we find one that works well.I'm as guilty of that as anyone, particularly with my pin-up images. The problem is that it's like singing the same old song over and over but with different lyrics (works for Van Morrison).
Here I've tried to achieve a 'daylight in the studio' effect - only partially successful but with enough redeeming qualities to post.
If any of you have any lighting tips to get me nearer to that Cinema 4D effect with a low end app like Daz Studio I'm all ears.
PS. This was going to be called 'Three' but I forgot to put in the cat!
Thanks for stopping by.

Jeeze - so I'm not the only one endlessly fiddling with lights..... Afraid I can't help much with DAZ, but I do know what you mean. I'm forever messing with spotlights, point lights, infinite lights, indirect light, and on and on. Probably comes from my days photographing models... I fiddled with the lights endlessly then, too. Anyway, this looks just great. Whatever it was you did, it works! Excellent - even without the kitty!

Delicious creativity. this work is complete, long shapely legs, impressive and perfect streamline body. Most favorite sight seeing is the face of the girls. Good light and very fine done. A remarkably attractive artwork.

David, I think you aced the north light look here.... I had that in my little studio in Houston, and nothing beats it for photographing the ladies.... good work! (and 10-4 on sticking with one setup....)

Thats a 'deja-vu' moment. Have you tried any of the new 'gel' light sets from DAZ? They seem to work pretty well.

Great scene and poses.......go for lights with blue/white hues and use diffuse only on spots and points....keep shadow maps to soft.....and opacity to about 50%. give that a try

See, I knew it was missing something.. the cat, lol Excellent image, great poses and composition. I'm not much help with lights, seems like I spend more time playing with lighting than I do setting up the actual scene. And I'd have no clue as to setting up C4D effect in C4, much less DS, lol

Yep! your right about the lighting trap for sure!
