Description

Please view full size! In reality this scene was immensely striking....unfortunately the full colour photo's didn't convey the atmosphere of the place at all. They work in black and white, they work tinted, but my favourite version is this rather brutally processed one. A ski field in the summer is a rather strange place - deserted, and strewn with isolated reminders of its intended purpose. Here, I came around a corner to see dozens of chairlifts dismantled for summer storage - a bizarre scene reminiscent of a graveyard or post-apocalyptic wasteland. Your comments and criticisms are always welcome! EOS 30D with Canon 10-22mm Previously:

The tufty grass and exposed ridgetop all add to that feeling of a desolate landscape. The post work suits it well. It looks better in full size - the chairs pop into focus.
