Description

Not much excitement here, I was just trying out this armor's material settings and some lights. That's the bad part of using DS with "made-for-Poser" creations, the materials all having to be adjusted. Used to be that rarely a creator would include DS mats as well although thankfully it's getting more prevelant these days. Not only for their surface properties like metallic or plastic but for their specular highlights, gloss percentage amounts, reflection strength, ad infinitum. I'm learning but it's been a slow process of trial and error. Same with Poser lights, usually they overpower DS something fierce and have to be cranked way down. Such is the price I pay for being chea... ahem, frugal, and using a free, but outdated program. I'm still using DS 2.3.3.89 as I haven't wanted to step up to DS3 until I could afford the full pay-for-it version. Hell, as far as I know Poser material settings and lights act the same in it, too, but at least I could use Daz's version of dynamic clothing with it. I just find DS more "user friendly" when compared to Poser although I've only tried a freebie 30 day trial of it a few years back. That in itself was intimidating enough that I stuck with doing things for 'The Sims 2' until I broke down and grabbed my first version of DS a couple of years ago. CREDITS: SanctumArt's 'GrimArmor VAP' and hiding inside of it is M3 with 'Griffin' morphs/mats. One of Stonemason's 'Ruins of War' walls for a backdrop and my lights. See? I told you there wasn't much excitement. Thanks for looking and any DS hints or suggestions are always welcomed and greatly appreciated.

Agree...Everything purchased should be compatible with Daz also. There were items I liked but when I saw not tested in Daz I deleted the purchase...I also agree that Daz is more user friendly. I have poser but each time I try to use it I get a bald spot on my head from tearing my hair out...Why can't the two just get along???? Love your render!!!

never really used DS..had the freebie a long time ago but having Poser I didn't feel the need to learn yet another prog..I'm lazy at times lol. It seems that you are quite the master at this prog though..love what you can create with it. The work on the texturing stands out very well :)

Fab. The adjustments for the armour are not too intimidating. Once you realise that if you switch all the light models to matte life becomes easier for a lot of "poser only" mats. Love this.

~I know exactly what you mean about adjusting the material settings...sometimes it takes a lot of trial and error to figure out just which dial is the one that's making the mat look flat or too shiny or just totally black! And, DS3 doesn't handle Poser lights any better. All that being said, you do an awfully good job quite consistently in your DAZ images...you are way ahead of me, though I am using the latest version of DS3A. Did I mention this is a fabulous image?!~

why dont you install daz 3 free parallel to the daz 2 installations use your daz 2 as usual but update it (with the no content version of 2.1.163. if not available anymore i can upload it for you. then you just point to the daz 2 runtime in the daz 3 options menue and your done. this way daz 2 stays aas was and you can use both i sometimes have even bot versions open withouth conflicts. any hints on that get to me bro at uterene@hotmail.com

Very cool character...excellent work. And poser lights in D/S are a nightmare. I use a gel spotlight most of the time...saves a lot of time and trouble when you're lazy like me...lol!!!
