Description
OK, I am done with this one now. The last version of "Homestead". I think I have got the image now where I wanted it to be.
My goal was to visualize a medium sized, well established homestead in the foothills of the eastern Rockies. Probably somewhere around 1870-1880? They have already gotten one of the Halladay Standard windmills for pumping water. Things seem to be going well...
This was a monster scene. 110 million polygons without any plant ecosystems. 630 billion polygons after populating the grass and trees. Nevertheless, the image rendered in just under 2h using GR on my i7 930. It used ~10Gb of ram at peak.
Scene setup and rendering in Vue 9 Infinite.

Fantastic composition! No detail overlooked. I like the path and worn off areas around the house.
