My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
Â
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
Â
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!

What goes around comes around!! Round or not this is a super shot Tara. By the way that letter you weren't sure about is an i. Lol.

Beaautiful indeed! A wonderful composition. You almost make me interested in engines!

You don't need to know sh*t to take such stunning shots, in fact it may be a blessing. It's maybe the not knowing that leads you to the less orthodox shots.Whatever the truth of it, I love the results...I also love 'radial' engines, not to be confused with 'radial' tyres which DO go round :-)

The Zoom is so breathtakingly Brilliant, this is top class work!!! into my favs.

Stunning in zoom! You already know all you need to know about these machines. They fly and they are beautiful. Excellent capture.

Tara, now! I'm going to confuse you EVEN more!! lol When the first radial (round) engines were around (in WW1 and before), they USED to go around! The WHOLE thing! They that has confused you hasn't it.. lol But anyway, this is a fabulous shot, very well cropped and taken.. Rob

Fantastic capture, Tara

My dad worked for an aviation company for most of his life. The company also had a social program in the framework of which we as a family for instance booked our holidays, at the seaside. It didn't last long, but for a while you had a sense of social cohesion, which was nice.

Another wonderful composition; you have such a brilliant eye for showing us the views we never see. And of course that postwork.... :::sigh:::!

Things don't have to make sense to be pretty--if you can call an airplane engine pretty!! It really is, though and that's what makes this so cool!!

Gorgeous reflections indeed! I love that glimmer and the clarity of your image, round or not is fantastic! :) Always a unique and artistically creative way to present your subjects! A dazzling and curious image!
RodS
But it does make the prop go 'round! Lovely photo, Tara! You have such a knack for making the most utilitarian things into art! Of course, I love airplanes (well, I'm a guy.... so I love airplanes, guns, cars, girls, gadgets, etc. - not neccesarily in that order...) Beautiful work as always!

You might know sh*t about aviation Tara, but you know how to take a fantastic picture. BTW, I like your reference about ['round' engines, priceless!!!

You may not understand aeronautical engineering, but there's little about composition that you don't understand...! Marvelous photograph, Tara.

fabulous imgae, Tara!

LOvely capture. Have you ever heard of rotary engines. See for instance http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rotary_engine. It appears rotary engines can go around! Their crankshaft is stationary and the cylinders rotate and in that way they differ from this radial engines.

Tightly cropped beauty... Who needs to see more!? Clive

.. yes, but stills fascinating! beautiful details in this!
