The Dimensional Eye. This "thing" that exists outside of time. What is it?. Why is it there? It simply manifests whenever and wherever beings travel through wormholes or any form of tear in the fabric of space. There is no specified way to make it appear. It just does. Sometimes, if one stays long enough inside a wormhole, the "wall" will develop a hole on the left side of the direction of travel that begins to gradually open up after several minutes, revealing a large tunnel. Long, vibrant blue streams of energy are seen swirling inward from the edge of the hole towards the center at the far end where the the Eye then appears, as if being alerted to a presence. The mysterious glowing orb stays there with the blue energy flowing around it. No matter how fast a traveler's speed, or how long the journey, the tunnel and the Eye always follow along, on the left side in the direction of a traveler. Always on the left side. It disappears only seconds before something goes back into normal space. While it is present the Eye just stares. It doesn't move, it doesn't attack. It doesn't matter what civilization, planet or galaxy someone is from. It just stares. That is all it has ever been known to do. It looks out at the craft or beings, it's gaze piercing their very souls. It watches them. As if the Eye is studying whatever passes through. It watches, and watches. Although somewhat beautiful, it is a very, very eerie sight, one that most avoid looking at while using this form of travel. Some are even deathly afraid of the Eye, as there is usually what feels like an evil presence that flows from it. Some say staring back at the Eye long enough can cause disturbing psychological effects, although this has yet to be proven. There have also been a few travelers throughout time who claimed they have seen it blink. Reading the forms of energy inside the tunnel have always failed, even among the most advanced civilizations with thousands of years of technological development behind them. Radar, sonar, precision lasers, matter streams. Nothing ever bounces back. Probes sent in never make it far before being sucked into the tunnel walls, disappearing forever. Several scientists from all over the cosmos even find something wrong about the space inside the tunnel itself, like it doesn't even exist. Is the Eye really an eye? Perhaps one belonging to a being from a higher plane of existence, like a god? It is simply an spatial anomaly? Could the universe itself be alive in some way?
