Description

Dusting up the archives is worth doing every now and then. Some images and 2Ds need time to get ripen or just be noticed. You may easily find whether this stretch of your path has been beneficial.. They say, every error is just another lesson. How true it is, as there's nothing more valuable than experience. Nikolay

I have been looking and looking and trying to find out how you made this. Cant :-) But I like it and it is really something different. Fascinating indeed. And your words are so very true. And I thought of needlework too. :-)

Stunning imagery and technique (I can't work out how you made this, either).

Outstanding! I agree with you about mistakes of course, but have no idea what about this you might have considered to be such. This is brilliant!

I've learned one lesson in life and that's not to avoid mistakes, but simply to attempt to make the right ones. In terms of this image, I love the almost-needlework element this has, as well as the kind of neo-primitive style: like something tribal, but evidently very, very modern as well. The shapes are fantastic, especially the human figures. This also reminds me of the kind of artwork I'd see decorating some wonderfully complex and elegant publication in the Twisted Spoon Press catalog. That one publishing company is one of the cultural gems of Europe (and I hope they're still in business. I think they are. They're located in Prague, just in case you were curious.) But anyway, back to this. All I can say is WOW! I'd love to see more of this kind of stuff. It's as good as your photography, and I also agree that at times, images like this must ripen, rather like a good toast. Sometimes it just takes a minute. This took a minute, but WOW! What a marvel!

An intriguing effect, almost like a cut-out with a hobby knife, am I close ? However one of the bodies, the female on the right, takes very much the look on, of a marionette from Indonesia ... amazing arrangement, Nikolay BB

I really can't see anything wrong with this sketch, I am actually a big fan of your drawings: they have that very special "something" that makes them look so tribal and expressive. Keep on drawing Nikolais :)
