What a view, awsome... The stones name...obvious...'in the far dark ages passed a hermit lived round here.Travellers wanting to avoid drowning in the mire would ask him the safest route. His reply was always "Look....uuuummmhhh...see that stone over yonder, well keep to the left of that and you'll be OK.......I think!" Over the ages the name became the 'Luckombe Stone'.It's TRUE!........honest....well, maybe.....OK,OK it's drivell, but have you got a better idea? Thanks Pat.

I would love to see this for myself--and attempt to cross it, provided I have air support, rope, pulleys, antigravitational devices (or at least anti-mire devices) and all sorts of other mire-proofing for my delicate person. All of that aside, however, this is a gorgeous photo and rather inviting. As I'm from Chicago (and thus Illinois) I see land as flat as this and think: WOW...looks like home, only without the cows, the corn, and the soybeans. This looks a lot better, however. Really superb work.
