Description

well a little explanation for those who could not see the kittens. 9 years ago when i refurbished my house i found all sorts of old things under floorboards, etc. i had a plastic bag full. at college we had to make a box after the style of joseph cornell and i thought that would preserve them by putting them in a box. when we rebuilt the inglenook i found two mummified kittens, prob 300 years old. so they went in the box as well. we then did print making based on the box so i sketched a mummified kitten and put a 2 sillouettes on my printmaking. with viscosity printing you add oil with the ink so it will print an uneven height platten, you can add stuff and still squash it in the press and get results. that first image was built up so the sillouettes were hardly visible. this image was an early print of the basic platen and you can see the shapes. they still dont look like kittens as we know them, but that's what they are.

Certainly you far in the future are not to blame for their death. Yet in a society which eats 1000 year old eggs and shoots the messenger what is the difference. It reminds me of the phrase "Do you know a Chinese man in the oil business?" (Has to do with springpole drills." Betcha thought I was going to go to Egypt with two cats and the mummy image??!! Instead I picked up on the 300 years like digital_witch. We Americans are very short sighted in our past yet it is rich in folk forms.
