Mary, whenever I come back to RR (after a long absence), it always takes me a long time to get to everyone: It can take me 2 or 3 weeks...But coming to your gallery is like coming to a fine & very rich wine. There is such a fine-ness & delicacy in your vision. This image was posted in the last weeks of my father's life, and when I saw it---I saw it a few days after you posted it---it was like balm to me. Your choice of a greenish sepia was beautiful. The transition from left to right---as the orchids move through shadow & light and back to shadow again---is organic & beautiful. And your division of the background into light & dark is just perfect. Beautiful & gentle & introspective, all qualities you do beautifully. Thank you so much for coming to my gallery and for your wishes when my father had passed. I haven't even begun to answer my sitemails yet, but I much appreciated your wishes. And this image makes me realize what a beginner I am with the camera! Beautiful image, beautiful b&w, a real "mary" image...
