Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

Great idea, to show us the forklift as well. Nice presentation! I alternate between thinking this isn't worth taking pictures of, and snapping away like a madwoman. Glad you posted this ... now I can stop worrying about whether or not people would like to see it! LOL!

Have you seen the BIG racks of them at the marine on Lake Union? I think theirs go five or six high, and L-O-N-G ... It amazes me to see them piled up like toys on a shelf like this, but I guess that's what they are, right? Fantastic shot, I love the diptych with the forklift!

Didn't realise they did that!!!

Tons of clarity, detail, textures and variety in this cool collage, Bill.

Things look pretty well stacked all right! Cool photo, Bill! That forklift looks like the same kind they use for lifting cargo containers.

Nice shot, great lighting, and the addition of the forklift adds to the depth of field and gives a nice bit of added info. This reminds me of Belmont Harbor Yacht Basin here in Chicago, where the tycoons play. And stack their toys. Great shot.

A wonderful capture of these stacked boats. I was amazed when I was in Perth Australia to see them doing this too. Imagine the amount of money tied up here.

The best thing about stacked boats is watching them come unstacked in spring, when the water is no longer wearing a coat of ice like really dangerous pond scum. The hoists and forklifts and other odd bits of equipment make the best sounds and I love the idea of boats existing, for a moment, in airborne positions. This is a gorgeous shot and I love the quality of light and detail. Thankfully spring is coming--soon, or so I hear--and so maybe I'll get to see boats loaded back into the waters of Lake Michigan, just as soon as the natural ice sculptures melt. This is superb.

"Hang on a minute...when I applied for the job of 'shelf stacker', this was not in the ad..." Great shot Bill, very interesting...now, if we can just jack up the racks, slide in a few bogies..we could have grand theft on a grand scale..:-)
