What a delightful image, Barb. For reasons I find difficult to enumerate precisely, this work strongly reminds me of Lewis Carroll's "Through the Looking Glass" The girl seems to me to be a perfect Alice and you have captured the daydream countenance exactly. I look at the woodpecker as an analog for the Cheshire Cat and I see the entire background scene as her first through-the-glass encounter. I expect the flowers in the garden to start talking at any moment and I REALLY want to live in that house. Doubtless, this was not your intended objective, but look at it this way; you inspire me! I am always impressed with your creativity, Barb. Well done!
