Hello. this is Spaceboy. I go thru your gallery, and on each piece i leave comment.

Hmm, this one looks rather.... bad? theres poor lighting, thats main problem i think. Tubes look flat.
Also, wooden texture is

  1. too known to be used anywhere, but this is just my opinion about this texture, i just see it too often. As this is just draft image, it is ok.
  2. Color of boards is too live, and is making tubes unimportant part of image. Adding saturation to tubes and lessen it on wood will be vise.
Enviromental map shares this same problem in vice versa, tubes arent cleary separated from upper part of image. Use other color, or higher/lower lightness.
Theres one little flaw, edge of wooden base running between tubes touches richt tube just in place, where blue paint meets red stripe. Maybe this is main flaw of entire image, as it creates area that can be interpreted in multiple ways. Try to change angle of camera little, and you surely be SURPRISED.
investing some time to study of color theory, cold and hot colors ant their influence should be good tooo. You can use colored pencils, gouache colors or whatewer you find suitable for yourself. Walking around with pencil and sketchbook is good practice too. make one pencil and skechbook at hand when you watch tv, and when commercial strips starts you can draw instead of looking at such stuff. If it gives you ten minutes a day you bee da vinci in year (or bit later :D ).
