Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

What a cutie. Babies of any species are pretty cute, and this is a real beauty. I love the ripples and the nice, darkish colors of his (her?) feathers. I also love the way this little one looks a wee bit like a baby Loch Ness monster...sort of...well, not really, but I couldn't resist bringing that up. This is a fantastic shot.

Nicely composed, Bill! The ripples in the water are perfect, and it just draws the eye right to the little cormorant. Excellent capture of the little guy!

Cool photo!

An adorable face! It seems so wide-eyed and interested in that way babies have about the world. Okay, I know it's a bird. (It's just her face!) But still. Excellent capture!

AW! How cute! I guess the posts above have said everything I was about to say. I wonder how it would react if one tried to pick it up for a closer look or to pet it? Keep up the good work! :-)

So cute! He looks very much like the pied-bill grebe, are you certain it's a cormorant? I've never seen a baby cormorant (or more than one pied-bill grebe, for that matter) so I couldn't tell for sure. my pied-bill grebe shot

Hold the phone...yes, MrsRatbag is right. This little guy is a pied-bill grebe. Thanks Denise.

Cool capture of the young pied-bill grebe, generating nice ripples as it takes its baby steps in the cold water, Bill.
