Description
The Ground Agama (Agama aculeata) is a species of lizard from the Agamidae family.
This guy was an education for me. I had seen them sunning on the top of rocks near the river, just that I was not capable of their kind of climbing to get a closer shot.
They are quite funny, although they are cold blooded and therefore relishing the heat, the rocks do seem a bit hot for their feet (at an ambient of ±35°C - 95°F - I am not surprised). They then select a spot and sit on their heels, lifting their feet off the ground!
