Hello everyone and thanks for looking...
I've been really impressed with the folks who can paint hair well lately. Check out the galleries of 'Maddelirium' and 'DrCarl' for some really good examples of what I mean.
I tried to do a little hair painting on this one, but I think I'm going to need a bunch more practice.
What do you folks out there in Rendo land think? Any tips or pointers out there? ^_^

What have you? The hair looks good. If we were all perfect, no one would look at the pictures - it's our style that makes them unique. And yours is good! Wonderful PoV. Sexy! A successful image. You should not complain!

Great job Tom. The hair you've painted in looks good but I know how you feel about painted hair. If you can pull it off just right it can add so much more dynamics to an image. I've recently been playing around with some fur brushes as well as some of the tools in PS that once mastered should give the desired results. You can looking into doing that yourself. You can even make your own hair/fur brush to do what you want how you want. Hope this helps. All in all still a great go at the hair and the rest, pose, expression and POV are on point.

the picture, even the hair looks great. I thought the hair was a model, it didn't even stand out til you said something. If your characters are only going to be used once and you're going to go the 2D route, I'd find a good photo of hair and clone in onto the picture.... for this girl, you could of gotten a farrah picture, cloned in the hair, zoomed in and did some touch up... just some ideas.... picture and pov are awesome just the way they are.

Not much on painting myself but Deviant Art has scads of free hair brushes. All I can say is practice x3. I too am envious of the folks that can make their hair renders flawless, maybe one of these days I'll stop rendering long enough to practice it myself. Your's looks pretty good though Tom, lots of varied brushes and a gentle hand is all I can say. There's always the "undo" button... lol.

Not a bad attempt at all, Tom! My only criticism would be that it looks a little heavy, but that's not necessarily a bad thing...

Great scene - I think he should accept her offer! Good hair painting as well, in keeping with the scene overall. Painted hair can look really good in stills, but it can be time consuming.
