Description
Snow does not come to Superstition Mountain very often. So when I saw that it had snow on it this morning, I had to take a photo safari to the foothills. The road I hiked into the desert from was jammed with traffic because lots of people wanted photos before the snow melted.
I used my Canon SX130IS on a tripod with two seconds of self timer to try and let the vibrations settle out before the shutter tripped.
This is the first of a series.

Very nice! I take, from what you said, that snow is rare here. Well, you got a great shot of it! This reminds me a lot of Ansel Adams' work. Nice!
UVDan
Thanks Erestorfan.

Echo the Ansel Adams look to it. Super B&W!

Been in this area and this is certainly an eye-catcher. I was in Rudy's pass a few years ago for Christmas day...camping. I froze. My glass of water by the sleeping bag was a glass of frozen water...ice. Great shot. And fabulous contrast in the b/w.

This is quite a photo.... Dan, you're good at this... This is the best shot I've seen in a while...
UVDan
Thanks Tom. It helps when the mountain sits still and doesn't fidget around.
