Description
Mishu was our First Dog, born January 19, 1980 and died April 26, 1996. He was Old English Sheepdog and German Shepherd on his Mother's side, and Large Hairy Dog on his Father's side. We knew the Mother, she was sweet, and didn't really look much like a OE Sheepdog or a German Shepherd, but that's what they said she was. The Father was most definitely a Large Hairy Dog, and a very handsome one at that. Mishu was a Large Hairy Dog also, but I used to give him haircuts in the summer. So this is my summer dog. In the winter I let his hair grow, and he was unmistakably a Large Hairy Dog. In fact, you might wonder if there was a dog under all that hair!
Mishu was the best, most awesome dog ever born. He taught all his tricks to Gracie Anne before he died. I never thought there could be another dog as awesome as Mishu, but he did the most excellent job in passing all his knowledge to Gracie Anne, because she sure was as awesome as Mishu.
They just don't live long enough, and when they go, they take a part of you with them. But they leave a part of themselves with us.
Thank you everyone for stopping to see the last post, for leaving such wonderful comments of concern and caring for the people of New Zealand and for Nancy.

Oh how wonderful he looks and he oozes character, I can see how much you would love such a gorgeous handsome dog as Mishu. Yes I agree they just don't live long enough, in fact only today I said to my daughter as she helped me bath my 2 dogs, is it really true that 7 years had past since I helped them take their first worldly breath?? Time goes far too quick and makes our beloved pets old too soon. I love the painterly effect you created here Rita. hugs Jane xx

Cute capture and portraying, Rita. What a wonderful memory you have of Mishu. Half German shepherd, and half carpet.. what a wonderful boy. I really love his expression hehe.. tongue sticking out and all. A shame their lifespan are relatively short. The pain of loosing them, are the nasty price we pay, for getting attached to them. But it's worth it i think :)

I can see why you'd miss him so much. I miss my first dog too, and still keep his picture as my desktop wallpaper.
