"I'm going to strangle you," Lady Swiftbrook snarled from behind her fan. "Setting aside for one moment how highly unlikely that is, might I ask what I have done to offend you, madam?" W'rath replied. "Wha-what you did?! Where do I start? Let's see... to begin with you are most definitely not K'hul. He was supposed to escort me to this ball. What did you do with him?" "I'm afraid your tall, pale, knuckle-dragging bed mate doesn't hold your diplomatic work in as high a regard as you might like." "And you do?" W'rath chuckled. "Perhaps not. I do however hold you in high regard and felt it prudent that you have someone watching your back." "That's hardly necessary. Things have been going quite well. Having you three reptiles show up will set things back. How the devil am I supposed to explain to the king why I have a pack of assassins in tow?" W'rath's eyes slid across the crowd of cringing humans. "Madam, I assure you he will not ask. The very fact that you are here in your lovely gown, breathing and twitching with indignation means that his plans failed." Lady Swiftbrook's eyes grew wide. W'rath was many things, most of them nasty, but he was surprisingly honest. "How?" "There were only five of them - scattered about the palace. Really it was a waste bringing the lads, but they were so excited about getting to see all the sights that I couldn't very well say no. And they did promise to behave." "You call that good behavior?" "Are we stepping over corpses?" "No." "Are we wading through pools of blood?" "Gods! No." "Then madam you have your answer." "W'rath." "Yes, madam?" "I'm still going to strangle you." "I look forward to it, madam."

omg I LOVE it!!! laughs The poses on the two guys behind Lady Swiftbrook are just KILLING me. The lady swooning in the background. The concerned looks on the rest of the Court. W'rath's "voice" you have nailed in that little story there. And W'rath of course I just adore. Perfect.

Ah, yeah...I think entering a formal royal ball with three Drow assassins WOULD raise a few eyebrows!! I LOVE the two Drow in the back! They're making the most of it, acting like rock stars, LOL!! And I love the details such as the man holding his girl who has fainted....and also the girl up on the balcony who looks as if she is ready to swoon. Great job!!!
