Description

Swan Lake (For Rodolfo Ciminelli) This dedication is for Rodolfo (Rodolfo Ciminelli), a very dear friend of mine. We have been friends for a long time, and he is one of the kindest and most caring artists in the gallery. Rodolfo uses the (Poser program) to create amazing works of art. He produces many dedications for his friends, and his art is beautiful, and inspiring. Please take time to visit his gallery, it is a true treasure. Rodolfo shared several stories with me about living in Argentina, and this one seemed so adorable. Hope my friends enjoy his story as much as I did. God bless my friends who are sick and in pain. The year was 1957 in the city of General Jose San Martin, in Argentina where our story begins. Rodolfo was 9 years old and spent most of his time with his friend Yolanda and her family. This day Yolanda had a special surprise for everyone, because she had been taking ballet lessons and wanted to show what she had learned. Yolanda had a older sister Teresa that assisted them. Teresa and her Mom Giordana found an old wooden crate, and moved it to the back yard. Rodolfo helped her family bring their cats and dogs, to provide her with many admirers. Yolanda dressed in her tutu, and came outside to greet her fans. There was no beautiful music, no fancy lighting, but she had the most important thing of all. The love and support of her family and her best friend Rodolfo. So on that small stage in their back yard, Yolanda gave the performance of her life, and recieved lots of applause. Rodolfo has loved this memory all of these years, because sometimes it is the simple things in life that are the best. I keep popping in to your Gallery Dear Dave, and I keep hoping to see a new work .. and Hurray!! there is a new work!! And it is a beauty! Such joy and happiness .. no wonder it is one of Rudolfo's favorite memories .. and now it has to be his very favorite memory of all, forever enshrined in this beautiful work! Again, you've captured the very essence of a beautiful story, a treasured memory! Just look at those smiling faces and the pleasure and enjoyment and pride written all over their faces, even the pets are filled with happiness! And what a beautiful little ballerina dancing so gracefully! I think you've outdone yourself again Dave! Such a wonderful treasure you have created here for a dear friend! Truly you are blessed with a magical talent!

Rodolfo Ciminelli is a very good friend indeed You took a story he told and you made wonderful art with it. Which is the highest honor one can do for some one when it comes from the heart. Which I know of you that it is with the heart you do art. This is a very happy time in his life and he needs to look at his happy times now to be lifted up in spirit. He needs to laugh too as it good for you and your health too. Thank you for this part of his life as it is a very happy times.

Thank you very much for this new "slice of life" Dave. :) I think that by choosing such simple everyday events that are so exceptional to the ones living them makes your gallery one of the most exceptional. I always admire the feelings that you express and that come out of your ART. I think that I should better write HEART because you make become form one and only word... You know, I think that your gallery is so beautiful because it is a world apart where each stay is greatly appreciated. Thank you for that, Dave... Your words and images are fantastic, my friend... Your friend, Philippe PS: I apologise for my late comment... ;)

Hey Dave! Great to see you back. This is a great looking scene and you've done your friend well with all the fine detailing which makes it so much more real. I love that cat who, from his expression, quite clearly requires his attention too - typical kitty. The dogs on the other hand are in it for the play time with Yolanda and Rodolfo - and maybe the odd pretzel. The posing is as always very natural and convincing - especially for Yolanda, dancing being really hard to come across as dynamic. And of coarse there is this wonderful narrative. We used to have backyard performances when I was growing up. Though, nothing as high brow as the ballet. My sister loved to do segments from the story 'Black Beauty' with Belle (our black labrador) filling in for the role of Beauty. Stallions being rather hard to come by in the suburbia that is now called the GTA.
