I don't really use Poser, but as for my computer, Saturday it was taken away once more for another motherboard!!! The one that was in it was only two years old, oh does it make me crazy. I'm using the old standby, a wonderful reliable dinosaur that has never let me down! But I can't do anything on her now but write, emails and cruise the internet, she doesn't have the juice for Poser - D/S and rendering unfortunately, but yeah - I can feel your vent and pain! I dream of building one or getting an Apple Mac Pro - for now, both are out of my reach! As for your image, matches the vent! Well done!

Poser requires a lot of memory to properly pull and display your content. It is best to reset the LAA config. of your computer if you are using a 32 bit OS. There is a tutorial here at rendo; the link to which is: http://www.renderosity.com/mod/tutorial/index.php?tutorial_id=2460 It is somewhat technical, but not overly so, and is a good short term solution. however you should have at least 4 gigs of ram to use this method. I know what causes some of the problems with Poser. It is a greedy, power hungry program that expects all resources be made available for it's use. With the 32 bit Vista Ultimate that I am running right now, fully dedicated resource allocation is rarely possible. I have times where I can compose and render very high resolution, complex images one after the other, yet other times I will try something that seems basic and simple and it will crash. One of my worst sins if you will, is not saving often enough, we all know how it is to lose something you have worked a while on to a system crash. Memory Bandwidth is important, but memory volume/depth (quantity) is more important than anything with OpenGL previews (your poser figure display) and rendering hi res images.

Know the feeling! Excellent scene and character! I use DAZ but the same problems occur - I sometimes save my works like a maniac - all the time! I try to speak friendly and polity to my computer and DAZ, sometimes it works!.. ;o)

A splendid render and one that really matches the emotions I go through when my own computer seizes up without even trying to start a render. But my system is very old and I feel lucky to get anything out of it without having to chop up anything that has more than one M4 in it, (usually) and even more chopping if I try adding any fancy background props etc. So, I really envy you your new machine and I wish you the best of luck with it once you put it together! I look very much forward to seeing what your new machine will assist you in creating!!!!!

Devo, even though your dream computer sounds great, but then poser will close for it being to strong for Poser. JIJIJIJIJIJI. This is a great render. I couldn't put it in better words, I use poser also so I know exactly what it feels like...
