Description

Ok, after doing my other work (The Last Green Thing) I was still having this itch to create a massive sci-fi city. I was not really all that impressed with the city i built in that piece, all though it was not bad... i still wanted to try harder. I looked into how other people go about building massive cities in 3D and found some interesting techniques to build geometry faster. So i set out to create this city. Hope you like it. I may go back and add a foreground setting along with a charecter(s) like the other piece. I have some ideas, but i have not decided on which of those ideas to persue. But in the mean time, i like the city by itself so i thought i would upload. This scene was built so far using cinema 4d and vue9 xstream and a little photoshop touchups on the color.

I love the details in the city, the many different heights and shapes, then the repetition of the circular structures. It does feel like it needs a touch of humanity. The lighting is excellent!

Most impressive - the detail is varied and credible, the use of atmosphere creates a vast scale, and the light placement adds necessary drama. Great work!!
