Description
This was one of my recent breakthrough pieces, where the concept came together with the character, clothes, etc.
I did the background with Bryce and then overlaid the character onto it. Now, because I like to avoid post as much as possible (crazy purist), I'd put the background into Poser and render directly over it. (That's what I'm doing with the new Martian Knights illo.)
I had to create the tunic color I wanted in Photoshop; I took the original, changed it, and saved it in a new folder.
I think this was before I discovered skin shaders, but it's hard to tell at this size anyway.
This is the first story for Crimson, who's probably my fan-favorite character. (I love writing her, too.)

I love the style of this. It kind of harks back to the golden age of space adventure with the likes of Flash Gordon and Buck Rogers. Love it!
