Description
The Royal Australian Air Force F/A-18 Hornet is a multi-role fighter designed for both air-to-air and air-to-ground missions. It is capable of air interception, air combat, close air support of ground troops, and interdiction (the use of aircraft to attack tactical ground targets that are not in close proximity to friendly ground forces!!) of enemy supply lines including shipping.

Another great plane excellently caught....I've seen it quite often and always wondered...is there a reason F-16 pilots taxi with their hand on the canopy frame ??...or is it just because they look damn cool doing it...think I'd go for the latter :-) (I found one of your photos on the cutting room floor, it's in my gallery for safe keeping, thanks for that :-)

Hm... glad it landed there and not on me - I hate being stung! (Pardon the pun!) Very nice photo. Looks like the pilot is trying to cool off using the canopy to deflect some air into the cockpit. I see you lent part of this photo (minus the plane) to Neil for his Mig image. Nice of you! Keep up the good work! :-)
