Description
This is my first attempt at modeling a complex object from scratch in 3DS Max and exporting it to Vue, so it's got some glitches and it's not super accurate, although I did try and use actual photographs and a Hornby engine as reference. Minor post work in Photoshop.

The model looks great to me. The environment and light is beautiful. 5* (The only minor thing that bothers me is the lack of motion, a little blur on the wheels would do wonders - judging from the smoke it is supposed to be moving...)

Love the lighting. I think the bridge looks a bit low though. And I agree about a bit of blur on the wheels.

Well done !

Excellent modeling and texturing. I have yet to attempt a steam loco, perpetually stuck in the vintage-diesel era. Intriguing use of backlighting as well. Fine work!

I've been trying to finish my verison in Bryce for years, but I got hung up on details I couldn't find. This is a very nice effort. Very well done and an excellent scene.

Getting images of the actual locomotive was pretty difficult and there seems to be variations depending on where you find them. I didn't model the cab interior due to lack of resources and the time it would take. Guess I'll just have to go to York when they finish the refurbishment work on it and take some photos.
