This was actually inspired in part by SkinnyVee's gorgeous demonic art at Deviant Art. While I definitely lack Vee's skill and style, I'm quite happy that this third attempt at getting this image complete came out as well as it did. In this case, starting over again was a good thing. I got a far better result this time than with the others. Most of this is hand paint in Paint Shop Pro X. The demonic being and the specters are deliberately loose and stylized. The figure up top was rendered in DAZ|Studio and then pulled in and fussed with. It was left deliberately more realistic looking though I had some thought of doing a paint of it instead. I thought the difference between the styles actually worked for this piece. The figure is just DAZ's Victoria 4 with Kozaburo's Long Hair Evolution. Once I had the figure in, I pulled some of the colors from the background onto her and then did a lot of filtering and hand adjusting for better integration.
