“You don't take a photograph, you make it.” - - Ansel Adams
UPDATED: September 19, 2010
Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

Pull up! Pull up! Gosh ... I hope he makes it out of there! Excellent work with layers. You did a great job making this look like a 3-D render! Many people go in the other direction, you know ... :P Good stuff, Honey! :*

One of those Canadians by the look of it and he is going to have a job getting out of that one Bill! Nice render.

Great image Hugs Susan~

Great work mate. Seeing this image in these crazy times (are they any crazier than any other times?) is quite chilling.

Very good work, Bill. But... is he really lost, or, as blinkings suggests, could this be an attack with a stolen plane? (Considering all the talk about domestic terrorism). With the quake in Japan, I'm also reminded of the film "2012" (the scene with the huge transport plane trying to navigate up between building that are collapsing as Los Angeles is tipping into the Pacific - fantastic extreme special effects in that film). Which ever, it's a chilling image. Keep up the good work! :-)

Isn't it fun to play!!! I have some images I have changed so many times, and never posted I usually put them up as a screen saver on my comuter and give them a day or two then I critique my own work and decide what to change. What a fun image, I hope he/she oh you did say fellow so I hope he clears the building, nice work. Happy Saturday to you!!

What a fabulous composition! I really like the smokey, misty effect here that you've managed to create! The POV is superb, you've done a tremendous job with the layers! It reminds me of so many things.. wow! This is truly great!

WONDERFUL IMAGE!

Really asking for trouble, flying in and around those tall buildings, in a patchy fog, all this with no running lights. Cool concept and experimenting with layers, Bill.

Cool.... I thought at first you were venturing into 3D modeling....

Tara and you - both of you venturing now into the realms of imagination in the photography field and manipulation ... great to see - this seems somehow reminiscent of a scene from the TV show: 'Mad Men' ! BTW loved the show ... and your presentation, BB

Well, that would certainly make one put a few puckers in one's pilot seat! Excellent composite, Bill! This is a very sci-fi looking image - very superbly done!
