Description

Old city of Sur, east of Mascate, Sultanat of Oman, on the Gulf of Oman, almost Indian Ocean. Calm and traditional city, known for trading and building wood ships named dhows (not many nowadays). On the road leading to nowhere... A few days ago.

I'm sorry you didn't get closer to those dhows on the beach. They look massive and beautiful. And they look like they take a lot of wood and don't see many trees. They must not make much sense any more from an expense point of view, but from what I can see they have great beauty.
