Description
Ah yes, the good old days, when men were men and women were women, and people liked it better that way.
Captured 6/12/10, at the Centennial Aviation Day celebration held on the grounds of the beautiful Dominguez Rancho Adobe Museum in Carson, California.
Much better viewed full size.
This handsome troupe, so happy and jolly, did a medley of dances popular for that era, including the Cake Walk, the Merry Widow Waltz, and stuff I don't remember at the moment. And far better than what passes for music nowadays. They put on a total of three performances during the day. The fotos I snapped were from the first performance.
Mary Poppins has got to be in there somewhere.
This was far more entertaining than the static 1910 era aviation display, which was extremely disappointing.
Still more to come on this.
Shalom, thankx for clicking on, and for any and all favs and laudatory comments.

Some might think those were the good ol days, but try wearing all those clothes when it's hotter'n heck out!! We've come a long way and it's not a bad thing!!

Wonderful old time costumes in this collage Harry and I think that I saw Mary Poppins, in the pink dress, highlighted in frame #4. Dana

Wild! Love the umbrellas! lol Would they have those indoors? That's unlucky over here to open one inside a house! lol But I love the look and movement of this and I've no doubt that it was far more entertaining than the rest of the show.. I remember you saying it was.......dull lol Good shots.. Rob

Excellent captures of this very active bunch and they do look to be enjoying themselves. Brings back great memories of my youth.

Nice job Harry. Can you imagine when exposing an ankle was a no-no? If this were 1910, you'd have to put a nudity warning on this for the 4th pic. Only kidding:)
