Description

This one is completely new. I threw it together within a few hours over the weekend. Once again utilizing the beautiful shortcuts Carrara provides in such abundance. Only postwork was adding some very few snow grain effects (snowy mist was done in Carrara). This image is a bit unusual for me, because I don't have a narrative for it, and I don't know the character's story. To me this is an illustration of an emotion, which I don't have any alternative expression for. And the illustration is not even character-based -- it's the image itself.

My only niggle with this excellent picture is the lack of footprints in the snow. Love that lighting. It could pass for a photo.

Oh wow, this is always something I would like to achieve in the future. It shows a lot of emotion without the use of face expression, just the render itself speak of a thousand words!

I don't think you need a narrative in your head about this piece. It speaks for itself. Anyone who's lived in a snowy climate can relate to this. For me, it just illustrates the peacefulness of walking down an empty, snow-covered street during winter. There's somthing really calming and almost spiritual about the experience - and I think you've captured that well here. Good job!

This is excellent on many levels, and I personally think and feel it's one of your better pieces. Lets' start shall we? The composition falls nicely withing the rule of thirds. If you don't know what that is then your eye naturally seeks to place your subject in that position. It may be worth a quick study to understand how the human eye compartmentalizes and processes what we see. The color scheme is judiciously served up. The reds on neutrals really sells the emotive qualities and ties together the setting rather nicely. The pose of your young lady forging against the bitter cold, head towards the ground and walking in a lazy stride is divinely depressing. This should resonant with most of us as we all suffer in some way or another. The counter point of the benches flowing horizontal as the woman strides vertically creates some nice resistance and tension. The use of volumetric clouds in Carrara really sells the setting more than without it. It has a function, rather than arbitrarily existing for the sake of showing it off. It is a subtle detail that adds value to your scene. Nice call. Looking over some of your past work, I can see a definite progression and built up experience level. Again, this piece really speaks to me. It relates a total message, one that is thought out and delivered with accuracy. And last but not least, it's truly refreshing to see V4 (or the like) used in a typically human fashion. No striking poses, and overly fantasized store manikin lustful garbage. You know, stuff that hardly anyone living on this planet can relate to. What you've done is help bring this kind of content to a new stage. Excellent work. It's a keeper! ;)

This is a wonderful image. Everything ties back in. The color to softly bring out the character strolling. The contrast of the sharp tree brambles to the soft snow and fog. The hard lines of benches softly covered in snow. A single person where you know there must be many more. One thing that I really like is that again the protagonist has strength and is comfortable where she is - she brings her warmth (herself) with her.
