It could be Santa's beard! Hopes he find it again before next Christmas! ;o) Fun aside - it could be part of airborne pollen from a tree I don't know which one But an excellent capture! :o)

I think jayfar is exactly right. It looks like how a spider lays her eggs. Wonderful capture and great job

I don't know what it is but is certainly is interesting. A lot of work went into creating it, whatever it is. Be sure and keep an eye on it and let us know what hatches out of it.

Ik denk dat het zaadpluizen zijn die er opgeblazen zijn. Seedfluff, I guess.

Hoi Juliette, volgens mij zijn het zaadpluizen van de vrouwelijke bloemen van de populier. Look here: http://www.tremele.nl/natuur/plantvdmnd/2009_12dec/populier.htm

sorry to say, but they aren't seeds... I have seen 6 of them and all are created around a bud of a branch in the same way.... it must be created by an animal, I will search until I found it, but I hope someone at rendero knows

Looks a lot like cottonwood down to me, but there might be some cobweb mixed in.

I don't think spider either, but certainly a bug's way of hiding it's eggs! A marvelous capture!!
