Description

Snow. We got about 5 inches of snow (about 12.7 centimeters). I was so hoping we were done with snow because winter started so early. So as I was looking through my photos, I found these wonderful warm summer images. Much to my delight, I see I've managed somehow to capture one of the wee fae! They grow much slower then we do, so I'm guessing this one is maybe a hundred years old .. that's about same as our 4 or 5 year old children. I know she must not have seen me, or she wouldn't be in this photo! There are two birthdays, xoxotree and drag. I'm late for drag's (aka Bonita) birthday, that was back on the 15th, and today is Therese's. So, Wishes for a wonderful, wonderful year to both of you! The photo is actually two photos, one layered over the other. I lowered the opacity of the top layer to about 50% and merged. Then I played with filters. A lot. And then I added the little girl fae by pspworkshop who has so many beautiful freebies found here in free stuff. The dove and the birdbath are by Pewter7, also free found here in free stuff. Both artists do fabulous work, and are incredibly generous with their free tubes. I give up. I will never be able to catch up with galleries. But I'll keep trying anyway. Been playing a bit with Mb3D .. trying to understand that program, GRRRR. I think you have to be a mathematician to figure these things out, LOL! I have trouble adding 2 and 2. Many thanks for all the faves, and especially for all the comments on the previous post. I just love the comments!

Looks like it will be Hollow time with fascinating images of that enchanted place. This is a great beginning for the new season. Excellent work Rita, by the way have you seen the book by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle that depicts photos of what were thought to be real fae? The title is about a garden, something like Cottleby Garden. It is still in print and it reminds me of your work. Nice to see these delightful beings!!!!!

I can see why you from the snow, landed in this beautiful scene. Great birthday gift.I love the feeling of the depth of the forest, maybe because the layering of pics.Despite that the light falls in wonderfully on the little fae. Sweetness, I wish it here too :-)

I'll have to go visit Bonita and Therese....Happy Birthday wishes to you both! And Rita, as for this image, I honestly can't take my eyes off it. Full size is a must! The layering and the filter work are magic. It looks like an exquisite old painting, like some of the American landscapes I've admired from the 30's and 40's. But, it has the quality of a transparency....the top layer lets the light come through like a stained window. It really is wonderful....in the full size....you just can't see the qualities in the smaller size. I really love it!

Rita, this is such a beautiful image you've created my friend and it is sure to warm everyone who views it. Sorry about that snow and hope it goes away soon. But on the bright side it was the reason you poured through old photos and stumbled upon your capture of this adorable little fae ;)

I love the rays of the sun reaching through into the depths of the forest and catching this little fae unawares. A beautiful birthday gift with a lovely mystical feel to it. I love how you have your name hanging on the tree too, that is a great finish.

Excellent picture mixing, it has that fantasy feel to it... Telling us the Fae isn't real after making us believe you - ouch... next you'll be telling us the Easter bunny isn't real and I'm not getting candy - lol.... The Easter Bunny is Real and he wants me to ask you if you know why he hide his eggs??? Why does he hide his eggs??? He doesn't want anyone to know he's been screwing a chicken - lol

I am still just limping along with my computer, but touch wood still able to get online - phew!!! I am missing creating Rita but managing to remain sane - I think lol. How are you and your pets, hope all is well, love and hugs Jane xx p.s. I found a pic I had made that was sized up for Rendo - Steampunk Kitty, and have uploaded it here last Monday, I am so grateful for the lovely comments you made on it when it was uploaded onto DA, hope you still like it lol. xx
