I'm not sure what all to say about myself, I live in Ann Arbor, Michigan (USA) and work as a graphic designer/computer technician for a print shop. I have a BS in Historic Preservation, but wasn't willing to go on for a Master's Degree, nor was I interested in teaching, so I found another career. I discovered Bryce way back when version 1 came out, but I didn't really get serious about the program, or 3D art in general, until a few years ago. When I'm not in front of the computer, I'm either making costumes or wearing them to a renaissance festival, or building a new rock-sculpture, or possibly wandering with a camera.
When I'm not making something, odds are I'm reading from my far too wide range of interests: Astronomy, Cosmology, Physics, Archeology, Anthropology, History, Current Events, NASA (of course) and anything else that happens to catch my attention. It's really hard to find enough time to do all of the things I want to be doing! What drew me to Renderosity is the many excellent artists who continue to inspire me to push myself as an artist. More recently I've added a selection of stuff to another online gallery location:http://nefariousdro.deviantart.com/ÂÂ

It's way cool ... I hope you find a way to use it! I'd use it as a floor or an instrument panel. This rocks!

looking good

It's a great texture, reminds me of some Mayan things. Would not mind a floor like this.

Now that's a really maya-pattern-looking texture! I'd try to put it on a old temple lost in an amazonian forest. But in space... hum... maybe a flying maya temple?? xD

AH-HAAA!! So you're the guy doing all those really complex crop circles! :-D This really rocks, Mike! I think this would make a killer tapestry - perhaps in some alien temple. What ever it ends up as, I really like it, my friend! Sometimes the best images come from just letting the art take you on a journey of it's choosing...

I really like this, and there are spaceships out there with hull textures like this! Well...there could be. I actually thought of crop circles when I saw the rounded patterns, but this is something far more complex and compelling, and I really like the color scheme as well. I also agree with Tara, this could make an interesting interior component--deck-plating for some swanky dignitary's quarters...OR a control panel for someone with visual aesthetics that ain't exactly human. At any rate, this is massively cool! The best thing to do is to just go on and let art do what it does. This rocks!

Definitely looks like the texture for ships that will descend upon on at the winter solstice of 2012. Or something like that...

Lovely texture in this. Looks like material as in a rug or tapestry. I totally agree, a great interior backdrop.

belle texture!

Like Chip, I too thought this involved crop circles in the thumbnail. Now I think it could be some kind of flooring in a ship or interior walls. I really like how all the detailing slowly seeps in as well as the subtle shades of coloring. very nice work.

looks like a wall relief you'd find in an Aztec pyramid

Why wouldn't you use it on a spaceship hull? Space ships don't have to be gray, or gunmetal, or any of the dull colors we thing they ought to be. Space ship hulls don't have to smooth surfaced, devoid of decorative or informative patterns .. or perhpas historical writings telling of where they come, where, they've been, where they're going. Space ships just might carry maps, such as this encrypted one, on their hulls, maybe mapping the way back to a far distant other dimensional home world. And maybe, a story to go with it. Shame to waste such a fabulous story on a floor ... grins.

Has a bit of a Mayan/Celtic hybrid feel :) David

I would put the texture on a stone wall but it would also go well on a ship's hull too. Was thinking of a jungle scene and this would go great on some ruins. How do you make these? When I want a texture, unless its really simple, I fire up artmatic pro and see what I can find. Usually I get something interesting. Looks great.
