This is a great picture! A year or so ago we were driving through small towns around us and we came across a Civil War encampment and it was really neat, like this one. And I LOVE the fact that we see a young girl in this picture. What better way to learn about history than to live it?? I have a feeling that this girl is more versed in the Civil War history than most of her classmates...Kids today need things that keep their attention. This seems like a perfect way! I think schools should have field trips to reinactments like this. Sometimes seeing something sticks with you a LOT longer than just reading something from a book!
