after 7 years i'm finally getting around in adding some info on this page. never really thought about doing it. i have been a member here since July 15th 2006, and have learned alot from fellow artists. i would have about 1300 images or so posted but have deleated many of my first pieces. and still consider myself a developing artist at this wonderful site. i'm 56 years old this year "2013" and was born in North Dakota. i have lived in Colorado since 1967 and enjoy this place alot. my stepfather was in the air force and we lived in Bermuda after North Dakota for a few years before coming here where he got stationed.. and so much enjoy many of the finest artist in the world who post here.. love you all and your amazing friendships we share.. lol Steve
i enjoy working with poser, i have such a dinosaur version i use, (p6) wish i had poser 2012 at least. i also use photoshop 7 for most of my work i post here. but more so photography is my main passion, just hope to get a camera again someday.
Â
p.s. not sure how high of a res pic i'm using for this page. take care and thanks a million you all.

wonderful work. uncle Tom cabin as about slaves before the Civil war. it help lay the ground work for the abolitionist cause in the 1850s. abolitionist been trying to stop slaves. wish G. Washington took it up but he say his hands was tied so he did not do it. He did free his slaves after he died. The reason he had to wait intill he died was because of the law which he did try to change. But he did treat his slaves as humans and as family. He called the doctors if one was sick. he feed them good too. that one reason he die poor as he spent his money helping his slaves

I'll just go with the mood I'm in. Tom's cabin looks like the place I'd like to be right now. No computers, no cell phones, no TV, just bloody peace and quite. Might even get around to reading the book. Give me the address !

I'm thinking she's got some fresh moonshine in that there trusty bucket, Steve, great atmosphere and I like the setting, very rustic. Looks like you've got plenty of info about UT'sC... it sure refreshed my memory reading the comments even though I remembered the negative stereotypes ~ especially the "Uncle Tom" one.

Excellent scene. Mike did an excellent job of making a concise summary of the book. As he mentioned at the end, I believe more people know the derogatory use of the title and have little knowledge of its origin and old cartoons were considerably less thatn P.C. than today. I have some WB collections that contained banned cartoons. However, I definitely like the resident of this cabin. Really nice render and lighting. Like the details with odds and ends laying around.

I have a copy of that as a text novel on my hard drive. It is certainly interesting and different. I can't really add any more to what mikeerson has already said.

Actually, Steve, the cabin is probably a good depiction of what the original would have looked like, although it probably had a dirt floor. Still, the account is fictional, so your guess is a s good as mine. And God help Uncle Tom if a white chick were found inside (particularly one as 'Daisy Mae' as this). I like to think of your rendering as a positive statement on how far we have come. I am very encouraged by how truly color-blind the younger generation seems to be (I do not of course refer to you since I don't know your age). And of course, as always, your artwork is splendid.
