Description

Some call it a 'viewing', others a 'gift of prophecy'...for young Mara it began as a curse, a nightmare, a tumultuous history of endless running, hiding, masquerading... She remembered days where mobs pelted her house with rocks and refuse...of her mother's terrified, yet reassuring face telling everything was alright, and that people didn't understand her 'gift'... She remembered the painful day when her father, mother and brother fell valiantly while protecting their beloved family....No, protecting her...from people screaming words she didn't understand, words like 'witchcraft'and 'heresy' and 'devil's child'...she could still vividly see the rusty, stained sword puncturing her father's lungs, smell the coppery smell of her father's blood as it dripped onto her face, and hear the wheezing sound coming from his throat as life seeped from his body... She remembered at that moment being bewildered by the fact that the events had unfold exactly as she had seen it played out in her mind...and later, the crushing realization that nearly swept away her sanity when she discovered that she had in fact seen a foretelling...and the unbearable guilt that stained her very core, heavier than a mountain, of knowing she could have stopped it if she had accepted and used her 'gift'... Even now, more than a decade after she had been rescued by her uncle, a famed Swordsmaster thought dead, and having learned to harness her gift and lifted to greatness by the very people who had earlier cried for her blood, it dawned on her that she had forgiven everyone, except herself... Yet the days ahead would offer no respite, for she had seen the ultimate foretelling, of a great war that pitted the valiant army of Light against the vast, undulating army of Darkness in a war that would engulf all of middle earth...that put her on perilous journey to the kingdoms of Man, Elves and Druids...and in the final chapter, all outcome would hinge on a single choice that only she, The Foreteller, could make... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Hello! Just thought I'd add a little background info on our young heroine :-D Thank goodness my desire to write comes few and far in between LOL... Anyways, me just hopes you enjoyeth! :D Thanks for visiting...Of course full view looks better IMHO... Nucks : 1200 x 1000 was the most my patience can take he he

To remember that which has not yet happened brings about a great responsibility. Is the vision directing your actions to insure that it happens? Or, is the Vision a warning of what may happen if events do not change? Worse still, is it inevitible and there is nothing the one seeing it can do to change what is yet to come? ..... The Lady Mirriam instructing Aaron (from Northwall my as yet unfinished manuscript.) What an intriguing scene and backstory. Your use of coloration does very well in setting the mood of her expression. Very Nicely Done.
