Greetings friends,
I am a frequent lucid dreamer and I have this recurring dream (although it is always different) in which I find myself in an infinite mall. Now, as it happens, I really like malls (especially the profligate, glitzy kind in California). It is sort of like a free trip to Disneyland (provided I do not buy anything, which often is an insurmountable challenge). This mall in my dream, however, is truly infinite. There are endless levels above and below me, and it stretches out to the horizon in all directions. This poses no obstacle, however, because in the dream, I can fly. You can find ANYTHING there. If you want an antique oak chair with ornately carved gryphon armrests and duck feet, it is there (I don’t want such a thing, you understand, but if I did). If you want Plato’s original manuscript of the Phaedo, it is there (That I DO want). If you want to purchase the authentic Mona Lisa, it is there but you will not be able to afford it (the price tag says ‘everything you have’ [and there are more ramifications to that price than are immediately apparent]). The shopkeepers themselves are an odd lot too and not all of them are strictly human. But they are not scary odd; they are Alice in Wonderland odd.
It is not just shops either. There are apartment villages, restaurants, theaters, museums, and carnival rides. It seems to me that the Mandelbox was made to depict such a place, so here is a tiny, tiny, part of the mall.

What a gorgeous image. The colors are outstanding in this piece of your mall. Your dream mall sounds so awesome. Luckily you can fly from place to place. Curiously asking if the shopkeepers are dressed in costume to fit their personalities??? Well Stan I wish you happy shopping!!(someone will want that chair). P.S. Great image Stan. Your dream of an infinite mall would be a nightmare for me rather than a dream. Shopping malls are something I avoid at all costs, but I do like the idea you have of every thing you could want being available. Knowing my history with large malls, my biggest worry would be i would forget where I parked, and in a mall that goes to infinity you would be destined to wander aimlessly for eternity looking for it. No wonder there are villages there, its probably made up of people like me that cant find thier car so they just settled there. Excellent fractal work, and your thoughts are wonderful for getting the imagination flowing.
