I wonder how you achieved this perfect moonlight - absolutely wonderful!

Thank you all for your kind comments. Badsue, I'm sorry I didn't post what I did on top. The moon is a big globe not too far away, and I put a very bright light in it, so that light on the inside lights up the clouds and sky around it. So the moon is a cheat inside the atmosphere. The sunlight is very low a little to the left but 95 percent behind the camera and lights the buildings and trees and moon surface. I rendered three images, changing level of detail and minor changes to the sun position and then I blended the three images together in PS. (sometimes this little trick will add some random detail where it might be useful). And finally, within PS I used overlay on a copy of one of the renders and used a mask so that the overlay blend only occurred in the moon bright areas. And because there are many layers of objects. Close trees, boat, shore and bushes and side trees, buildings, trees behind the building, the haze and clouds gave them dimension. And I wasn't especially successful with it, but the focal point, the sails with the moon behind, I went for light/dark/light/dark so that the you got a feeling for distance in those areas. I always have mixed feeling when deciding what to show and what to leave dim.

Absolutely Gorgeous Scenery!...

A very cool image...a bit different...the tree in the foreground confuses at first then becomes clear that the viewer is close to the tree on the opposite shore and viewing the ship and buildings in the distance. Very different view of lighting and perspective....I like it! Thanks for the explanation and admitting the postwork! I still postwork my TG2 images a bit also! :)

Markal, I agree about the foreground confusion issue - I think more things to "look through" would have been stronger. About postwork -- I only wish that I was stronger in that area and had better image integration skills. for me I'm a rookie in lots of tools and master in none. And that's ok, it's about the image after all (in my mind anyway). And it's about learning, where-ever we go.

Reminds me of the game "Fable". Which is good.. ; )

Wonderful work , my friend ! Even if you do not see, I often use layer masks and layer blending to get my results! In this case, you did a wonderful job with a great atmosphere!
