Hey all. Thought I'd post another update. There are a few things left to do but not many. Notably some texture issues still. As in the top left image, that wall is splotchy. Needs a new texture that isn't so splotchy. Also, the dirt texture in that image needs to be scaled a bit so it doesn't look so large there. Minor things like that, some renaming inside of Vue. Otherwise I think it's done. As I've said it is a full environment. It's roughly a kilometer wide--a bit over actually. You can place your camera pretty much anywhere and render. The terrain itself (with the exception of the big one you see in the distance) is all modeled and separate objects that make it easy to change ecosystems, or edit your own. Most I'm sure have a more powerful system than I do. I'm still only rockin' two gigs of ram on a core 2 duo at 2.6 ghz. It takes me about ten minutes to open the scene, then about 5 minutes to purge the memory so I can do something. That's in Vue 6. Vue seven . . . doesn't even like more than a couple terrains. Go figure. Anyways, most of the texture work has come out quite nice, especially since I started making use of photo textures which I rarely do--note to self, use photos more often :P Also, the Reaper SC8-GT is now available in the Marketplace.
