Description
hope that you don't mind me uploading older pics, i took this one a few years ago on the Quantock Hills, Somerset, the farmer told us they two weeks to do the Swaling at the beginning of March each year, it certainly does the ground good afterwards.

Such an ancient management tool! We used to do it on the heath here, but modern arsonists have rendered it unecessary in recent years. Unfortunately they set fires after the creatures come out of hibernation and so many are killed.
