Description
Been really swamped with my "side project" which has turned into a full time project at this point (which is very good since the Tech Writing jobs being posted are "coming up wanting" shall we say).
This is another of the Caldari Belyea Class Stealth Dreadnaught with a closer look at the space dock with the arms extended to allow the finished vessel clearance to leave dock.
Inspire 3D for the asteroid, space dock, and ships. Background in Universe, planet from LunarCell (Flaming Pear)
I PROMISE to churn out some new stuff soon (working on a RAM problem in the render machine at the moment: installed 24 GB of RAM, but the MB is only recognizing 12 GB--RAM is good, the problem is with the Asus K8N-DL MB or the MB configuration).

That's really cool!

This is seriously cool! I love the vaguely retro feel of this (mostly from the sense that there are painted textures rather than full rendering) and the whole sense of color, scale, and mood is simply top notch. This has the delicious feel of Vincent DiFate or someone like that, but it's distinctly your own, which really rocks. I love this piece!

Thanks all. Actually, there is usually no postwork in my renders. The background was built with the above mentioned apps, then I used bump maps to add the layering to the ship itself and once it is combined in the Layout tool, I color match the lighting for the scene to the background. One of the shortcomings of Inspire 3D is you have a limit of 64,000 points. 64,001 and you corrupt the file. So I have to use my texture maps and the bump mapping of I3D, to add a lot of my details (I usually use a black & white or grayscale version of the texture map to achieve that). Also why you will see more angular ships from me--circles EAT points. I do have LW now (including V10--but I have not updated Aggememnon (render machine name) to Win 7-a requirement of LW10). With the job hunt (no one seems to be looking for tech writers right now--or at least for senior tech writers), this side project for a former boss I'm doing remotely (nothing from them last week, but it is ramping up this week it seems, so I can pay the mortgage), and the "honey do" projects around the house (including the house), I have not really had the time to go through the tutorial I have for it (or even do any rendering for that matter).
